English Language Requirements

The requirements in force from 23 April 2026 are the operative ones.

Combination limit: a maximum of two sittings within a 12-month period.

Australia accepts five English language tests for medical registration. All five are listed below with the prep course for each.

Ahpra accepts IELTS Academic, OET, PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, and Cambridge C1 Advanced / C2 Proficiency. You only need to pass one of them.
