SPLE — Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination
The Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination (SPLE) is the national licensing exam for pharmacists who want to practise in Saudi Arabia. It is set by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and delivered through Prometric test centres. Passing the SPLE, together with DataFlow primary source verification, is required for SCFHS professional classification as a pharmacist.
Pathway Snapshot
Create your Mumaris Plus account, complete DataFlow verification of your pharmacy degree and licence, receive an eligibility number, book and pass the SPLE at Prometric, then obtain SCFHS classification before you can work.
Complete Journey: Pharmacy degree → DataFlow PSV → Mumaris Plus eligibility → SPLE (Prometric) → SCFHS classification → Pharmacy practice in Saudi Arabia.
Eligibility
The SPLE is intended for candidates classified toward pharmacist practice who hold a bachelor of pharmacy, PharmD, or equivalent degree from an institution SCFHS will accept. Other pharmacy-related titles (technician, assistant) follow different SCFHS exams. Confirm your professional category in Mumaris Plus before you pay for Prometric.
Experience expectations and English requirements are set in SCFHS classification rules and by employers. The exam is administered in English. Documents must be in Arabic or English.
DataFlow Verification
Primary Source Verification is handled through the DataFlow Group, SCFHS’s official partner. Typical documents include your pharmacy degree, transcripts, licence, experience letters, and a certificate of good standing. DataFlow contacts issuing institutions directly.
Timelines often run several weeks to a few months depending on your university. Fees vary by document package. Confirm current pricing on the DataFlow portal.
Mumaris Plus Account
Mumaris Plus is the SCFHS portal for classification, eligibility numbers, and exam applications. Create an account, complete your profile, and follow the pharmacist pathway prompts. The eligibility number is what you use to book Prometric.
SPLE Exam Details
The SPLE is a computer-based Prometric examination based on the SCFHS pharmacist blueprint (pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacy, law/ethics, and related domains as listed in the current applicant guide). Item counts, appointment length, and the scaled passing standard are published by SCFHS — commonly a scaled score model similar to other SCFHS licensure exams. Confirm the figure in the official SPLE guide for your sitting.
Test centres are available in Saudi Arabia and at international Prometric locations that offer the exam.
What we offer
MCIQ will open an SPLE question bank mapped to the official SCFHS pharmacist blueprint, with calculations and Kingdom-specific regulatory items. Register to be notified when prep is available.
Notify me when SPLE Prep is available →Retake Policy
SCFHS sets how many times you may sit the SPLE per year and any waiting period between attempts. Confirm the current retake policy in Mumaris Plus and the applicant guide before you rebook.
How to Book
After eligibility is issued, schedule through Prometric using your eligibility number. Bring the identification Prometric lists. Names must match Mumaris Plus.
After the SPLE
A pass allows SCFHS to complete professional classification. You still need a Saudi employer and the ministry/cluster licensing steps that apply to your contract. Classification is not the same as a facility-specific work licence.
