UK for Dentists
The United Kingdom offers two exam-based routes for internationally trained general dentists whose primary dental qualification is not automatically recognised. Candidates only need to complete one route, not both. The GDC Overseas Registration Exam (ORE) is delivered by the General Dental Council, while the Licence in Dental Surgery (LDS) is delivered by the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Neither route requires a UK dental degree. Both routes require at least 1,600 hours of chairside clinical experience, UK ENIC comparability documentation, Good Standing evidence, and English language proficiency.
