Canada for Pharmacists — Qualifying Exam
PEBC — Qualifying Exam Part I (MCQ)
PEBC Qualifying Examination Part I is a computer-based multiple-choice exam that assesses knowledge and application of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice. It is taken after Document Evaluation (for international graduates) and must be passed before you can sit Part II (OSCE). Passing Part I is not a licence to practise in Canada.
Pathway Snapshot
Complete Document Evaluation (if required), apply for a Part I sitting on the PEBC portal, take the MCQ at an approved test centre, then apply for Part II after you pass.
Complete Journey: Document Evaluation → PEBC Part I MCQ → PEBC Part II OSCE → Language & jurisprudence → Provincial internship / SPT → College registration.
Eligibility
You must meet PEBC’s category rules for the sitting you choose. International graduates normally need a successful Document Evaluation on file. PEBC publishes application windows, attempt limits, and how long a Part I pass remains valid for Part II.
Exam Details
Part I is a multiple-choice examination delivered at PEBC-approved centres (historically Prometric or a PEBC-designated vendor — confirm the current provider). The blueprint covers biomedical sciences, pharmaceutics, pharmacology/therapeutics, and pharmacy practice including law and ethics at a national level.
PEBC issues the official number of questions, exam length, and passing standard in the current candidate manual. Results are posted to your PEBC account.
What we offer
MCIQ will open a PEBC Part I (MCQ) bank mapped to the official qualifying-exam blueprint, with Canadian practice and calculation items. Register to be notified when prep is available.

Apply during the PEBC-published window, pay the exam fee, then schedule your seat. Identification rules are strict. If you need testing accommodations, request them through PEBC before the deadline in the candidate guide.
After Part I
A pass lets you apply for Part II (OSCE) according to PEBC sequencing rules. A fail is subject to PEBC’s rewrite policy and waiting period.
Start researching your target province’s language, jurisprudence, and structured practical training requirements while you prepare for Part II — those sit outside PEBC.
Fees
