Route Overview

Route A — Specialist Prometric Exam: 150 MCQs, 3 hours. 3 regular attempts. Committee review required for a 4th attempt with proof of remedial training.

Route B — Saudi Board (5 years): Part 1 (PGY-1/2, 150 MCQs), final written, and final applied combining OSCE and SOE stations. The subject weighting is approximately: Obstetrics 32.5%, Gynecology 30%, Office Practice/Women's Health 30%, and Cross-content/Ethics 7.5% — confirm current weighting with the latest Saudi Board blueprint. Stations are typically 10 minutes each with 1–2 examiners.

SCFHS Obstetrics & Gynaecology Specialist Examination

Purpose: Assesses knowledge across antenatal care, intrapartum management, postpartum care, and gynecology.

Format: 150 MCQs, single best answer.

Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes).

Passing Standard: Passing is determined using SCFHS standard-setting procedures; scores commonly fall around 60–65%.

Saudi Board — Part 1, Final Written & Final Applied

  • Part 1 (PGY-1/2): 150 MCQs on pelvic anatomy, reproductive endocrinology, and basic obstetrical sciences. Passing is determined by SCFHS standard-setting.
  • Final Written (Final Year): Multiple computer-based papers consisting of single-best-answer MCQs (typically 200–250 questions total).
