The United Kingdom for Internal Medicine Specialists. MRCP(UK) is an internationally recognised postgraduate qualification awarded jointly by the Royal Colleges of Physicians of London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
It serves as the key requirement for entry into Higher Specialty Training in UK physician specialties, and a credential that strengthens career opportunities internationally, including formal recognition as an Internal Medicine Specialist in many MENA countries.
Pathway Snapshot
The pathway consists of three sequential examinations: Part 1, Part 2 Written, and PACES. Passing all three awards the MRCP(UK) Diploma.
Complete Journey: Medical Graduation → 12 months after PMQ → Part 1 → Part 2 Written → PACES → MRCP(UK) Diploma → Higher Specialty Training (Oriel) → CCT → Consultant Physician.
Create a My MRCP(UK) account, verify your Primary Medical Qualification, upload supporting documents/translations if required, receive eligibility confirmation, choose an examination centre, and book during the published application window.
Recommended: begin registration 1–2 months before the application window opens.
Purpose: Assesses core knowledge in Internal Medicine and basic sciences, no images.
Eligibility: Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ) obtained at least 12 months before the examination.
